About the Group
Founded
in February 1995, the Kunming-based Yunnan Hongyu Group is
a privately run enterprise group engaged in inter-trade and
diversified operation. As the result of an effort to adjust
the industrial structure in recent years, in 2001, a layout
of industrial development that features involvement in
education, agriculture, international drug-crop
substitution, and hi-tech took shape, with considerable
economic, social, and ecologic benefits achieved. As one of
China’s large-scale private enterprises, the Group
has made tremendous contribution to the economic growth of
areas inhabited by ethnic minorities and the stability of
frontiers. Now the Group’s total assets, including
exclusively funded and joint funded subsidiaries, have
amounted to more than RMB 600 million yuan; the annual
amount of tax paid and after-tax profits of it has exceeded
10 million yuan. It has a staff of over 500, and has some
10 thousand rural families taking part in its daily
production and operation.
In the education sector, the Group holds 51% shares of the
Yunnan University Dianchi College. Also, it owns a joint
venture – Yunnan Hongrui Lemon Development Co., Ltd
– in the agricultural sector, a fully funded business
– Yunnan Green Treasure Industrial Development Co.,
Ltd. – in the international drug-crop substitution,
Beijing Hongrui Lemon Science and Technology Development
Co., Ltd. – a jointly funded outfit – in the
hi-tech sector, as well as the Yunnan Sino-Laotian
Hongniu Ecological, Agricultural,
Industrial and Technological Park, the 35km Coffee Test
Center Experimental Farm in Champasak Province, Laos, and
the Sino-Myanmar Plantation and Cultivation Comprehensive
Demo Park in Rangoon, Myanmar under the “Going
out” strategic program. Thus a new layout backed by
the education industry and guided by the drug-crop
substitution industry and the “Going out”
strategic program, based on the agricultural industry, with
the hi-tech industry as its focus and the public welfare as
its own obligation, of “Hongyu Industry”, has
been formed.
A unique, rational, healthy, and advanced corporate culture
of the Group has come into being in the course of constant
value creation and society rewarding. Under the spirit of
enterprise: “From our own hands come enterprises Hong
(means grand or great), in our heart dwells long a dream to
cross Yu (means the world)”, the Group keeps growing
stronger and stronger. Its philosophy to “take a
sunny road and achieve a colorful career” shows
clearly the direction of development; its code of behavior
to be “sincerity based, and innovation focused”
has greatly promoted its development; its aim in value
pursuit to “develop the enterprise and reward the
society” has contributed to the development in unison
between the enterprise and the society.
The
Group is also an active force in the public welfare
undertaking; it set up the Guangcai Program Foundation and
the Yunnan Silver Tide Elderly Service Center, and
organized various activities in helping student, the
elderly and the poor, and orphan, with acknowledgement and
praise from the society received.
